IXL – This website has thousands of questions for children to answer on maths and English. Though set out as tests it could be useful to spend time figuring out the answer to one question rather than flicking through and answering as many as possible. Login details have been sent through the post. https://uk.ixl.com/

Bug Club – a great website for reading and answering comprehension questions. Please encourage children to finish a book before opening a new one, and answer any ‘bugs’ with clear full answers. https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/login?c=0

TT Rockstars – an excellent way to practice times tables and score some coins! Usernames are the first 3 letters of children’s first and last name (so John Smith would be johsmi) and password is 123. https://ttrockstars.com/

Twinkl – this is a very popular website amongst teachers with powerpoints and worksheets to help explain new ideas to children. During the lockdown Twinkl have allowed parents to set up free accounts. This link will take you to a curriculum page where you can then find each objective for the year groups. https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resources/new-2014-curriculum-resources

Youtube – there are some great lessons out there on Youtube. Here is an English teacher creating live lessons for children in KS2 and beyond. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr8FBvGfgMoWPGLiPqJ1YWQ

For ideas to encourage writing the Pobble 365 website https://www.pobble365.com/ is fantastic and provides some ideas for word and sentence activities as well.

In maths it would be very useful for children to revise what they did in September and look at number and place value. If children are confident, they can then move on to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Children know that there is not only one method for solving a problem but can try lots of different strategies.

I know this is a difficult time and motivating children to learn at home is not easy. Whatever children can do will really help so that when we do get back to school we can catch up as quickly as possible.

This term, Year 5 have been busy working on their Food topic. They designed the meal and prepared all their own vegetables. They cooked in on an open fire while listening to stories from our storyteller, Gav Cross. The meal was delicious!

Y5 performed a beautiful assembly all about Lent. They helped us to think about how we can prepare ourselves for Easter. Thank you to all the parents who came to support their children.

Welcome to our page, please have a look at some of our work.
