Autumn 2016
Advent
During Advent, our children, families and staff worked very hard to collect food for the food bank and for families in the local area. Everyone was very generous and we were able to help 40 families over the Christmas period. The School Council helped to collect some food from a local supermarket. Thank you to everyone who donated.
Collective Worship
All classes enjoyed their Collective Worships and were really pleased that so many parents could attend.
Hindu Week
All our children took part in a Hindu week where they learned about the Hindu religion and culture. They had a special day with our Hindu visitor, Krishna, who brought lots of interesting Hindu artefacts to show them.
Roma Week
In our Roma week, the children learned lots of interesting facts about Roma history, tradition and culture. They took part in art, dance and music activities and they listened to some Roma stories from our fantastic storyteller Gav.
English Language classes
Some of our parents join us every Thursday morning for English Language classes. Please come along for the opportunity to improve your English in an informal and relaxing environment.
Ten Ten Theatre Company visit.
Our children enjoyed a visit from the Ten Ten Theatre Company and learned about the importance of Reconciliation and forgiveness. They also took part in an assembly focusing on the Year of Mercy. The children thought about how they can be kind to each other and how they can help each other.
Gospel Choir
The Gospel Choir have been busy representing St. Hugh’s and St. Clare’s Catholic Primary Schools at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King. Lots of parents came to watch and said the children sang beautifully. We are very proud of them.
